About Scott

Scott Beesley, CFP®, combines a deep background in economics, data analysis, and financial planning with a personal commitment to making money decisions more understandable, and more meaningful, for his clients.

He began his financial journey at the University of Michigan and later earned a master’s degree in Data Analytics and Policy from Johns Hopkins University. That mix of technical expertise and big-picture thinking shapes the way he builds retirement income strategies, tax-aware plans, and socially responsible investment portfolios.

Early in his career, Scott learned the value of a collaborative approach. By working closely with tax professionals, estate attorneys, and other specialists, he helps clients coordinate all the moving parts of their financial lives. His ability to turn complex ideas into practical guidance earned him the nickname “The Professor”— a nod to both his clarity and curiosity.

Scott’s work is also shaped by his values. A conversation with a Zen Buddhist client sparked his interest in socially responsible investing, and he’s continued to explore ways clients can align their financial plans with the causes they care about.*

Whether he’s sketching strategies on a touchscreen or speaking at a community event, Scott brings a thoughtful, grounded approach to every conversation.

Our Process

Financial planning doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Our process is designed to give you clarity, structure, and a sense of purpose as we build a plan that fits your life, not just your numbers. Whether you’re just getting started or adjusting course, we’ll guide you through each step so you feel informed and supported from the beginning.

Step 1: Discover

We begin with a conversation, not a questionnaire. This is where we get to know you, your values, and the financial decisions you’re facing. We’ll talk about your goals, your concerns, and what you want your money to support, both now and in the future. This step sets the tone for everything that follows.

Step 2: Analyze

Using what we’ve learned, we create a personalized plan that reflects your values and addresses your priorities. This might include investment recommendations with ESG considerations, tax-aware strategies, income planning for retirement, and legacy conversations. We’ll walk through the plan together and make sure it feels practical, intentional, and tailored to you.

Step 3: Align

Once we’ve agreed on a plan, we move forward at your pace. That includes implementing changes, keeping things organized, and meeting regularly to review progress or update your strategy as life evolves. Our goal is to keep your financial world aligned with what matters most to you—without unnecessary complexity.

Do Our Values Align?

Our Ideal Client

Financial advice isn’t one-size-fits-all. The right fit often comes down to shared values, clear communication, and a planning style that aligns with how you make decisions. We work best with people who want to take an intentional, informed approach to their finances—people who care not just about outcomes, but about the process behind them. We serve individuals and families who value clarity, organization, and a sense of purpose in how they manage their wealth. Many of our clients fall into one or more of the following categories:

  • Retired or preparing for retirement
You’ve worked hard to build your savings, and now you want to use it wisely. Whether you’re evaluating income sources, planning for Social Security and Medicare, or thinking about what you’ll leave behind, we help you create a plan that supports your lifestyle and gives structure to the years ahead.
  • Philanthropic or community-minded
Giving isn’t just something you do, it’s part of who you are. We work with individuals and couples who want to be intentional about their charitable giving, whether that’s through qualified charitable distributions, donor-advised funds, or investment strategies that align with their values.
  • Navigating a financial transition
Life changes, expected or not, can create financial complexity. Whether you’re selling a home, receiving an inheritance, adjusting to a new phase of life, or managing a health event, we help you make thoughtful financial decisions during uncertain times.
  • Interested in socially responsible investing (SRI/ESG)
You want your investments to reflect more than just your risk tolerance. You want them to reflect your values. We help you explore ESG investment options, from excluding certain industries to supporting causes you believe in, while still considering long-term goals and tax implications.
  • Looking for coordinated advice, not just transactions
You’re not looking for stock tips, you’re looking for a long-term partner who can help keep all the moving parts aligned. That might include coordinating with your CPA, reviewing estate planning documents, or simply helping you organize and prioritize what’s most important right now.

If this sounds like you, we’d be happy to talk. We don’t expect you to have everything figured out—just a willingness to work together on a plan that reflects what matters most to you.
