Financial decisions rarely happen all at once. Investments, retirement accounts, insurance policies, and estate plans are often put in place over many years as life evolves. Over time, many people reach a point where they want to step back and look at how those pieces work together.
Our approach centers on preparation and thoughtful planning. We work with individuals, families, and business owners to review their financial picture, explain the reasoning behind different strategies, and help organize the decisions that shape their long-term financial lives.
Justin Hammerbeck is a Financial Advisor with Gateway Financial Partners serving individuals, families, and business owners from Burlington, Wisconsin.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Virginia in 1990, and his career in financial services has spanned several decades across multiple areas of the industry.
In the 1990s, Justin founded a mortgage company, gaining firsthand experience working with clients on major financial decisions. He later spent more than twenty years as an insurance and annuity specialist with organizations including The Hartford, Genworth, AXA, and Equitable, helping individuals evaluate income strategies, insurance planning, and retirement considerations.
Justin’s experience across investments, insurance, and retirement planning allows him to approach financial planning from multiple perspectives. His work today focuses on investment planning, estate considerations, insurance analysis, and retirement plan design for business owners.
His personal philosophy is simple: put others first, prepare thoroughly, and approach financial decisions with care and discipline.
Justin views financial services as a long-term commitment to helping people organize their finances in a way that supports stability, flexibility, and the freedom to pursue the things that matter most in life.
We understand that every client is unique and has specific needs and preferences. That’s why our onboarding process is tailored to each individual. We prioritize getting to know our clients and building a strong relationship. Our goal is to ensure that every new client feels comfortable and well taken care of. Throughout the entire process, we aim to be a valuable resource for our clients. Although our process varies depending on the client’s unique situation, we follow a general framework. Here is what you can expect from our onboarding process.
Every relationship begins with a conversation. We take time to learn about your goals, priorities, and current financial situation. That may include reviewing investments, retirement accounts, insurance coverage, and estate planning documents, as well as discussing upcoming financial decisions or life changes. The purpose of this step is to organize the full picture so we understand where things stand today.
Once we understand your financial picture, we begin evaluating how the different pieces work together. This may involve reviewing investment allocations, discussing insurance coverage, coordinating beneficiary designations, or evaluating retirement planning strategies. We walk through the reasoning behind each recommendation so you understand how the decisions connect to your goals and overall financial plan.
Financial planning evolves as life changes. Markets shift, businesses grow, families expand, and priorities change over time. Because of this, we continue meeting periodically to review your investment strategy, discuss new developments, and revisit financial decisions as needed. These ongoing conversations help keep your financial plan aligned with where you are today and where you want to go next.
We work with individuals, families, and business owners who want to take a thoughtful and prepared approach to financial decisions.
