I started my career in the financial services industry as a Customer Service Representative for an Asset Manager in 2008, just a few weeks before Lehman Brothers collapsed and sent the world into chaos. In this role, my job was to respond to inquiries from Shareholders and Financial Advisors about the products that my company offered. The role soon shifted with the panic struck tones of those I spoke with. I needed to truly understand the concern of the callers and educate those as much as I could to prevent them from acting strictly on emotion. It was during this time that I gained an appreciation and a passion for the role and the industry. Instead of simply responding to inquiries, I provided relevant information to help people make the most informed decision they could. The notion of educating the client stuck with me throughout different roles at the Asset Manager and eventually led me to become a Financial Advisor. My goal is to always educate my clients, understand their goals and concerns, and tailor my advice to the specific situation.
