Experience
I have over 35 years of experience in the financial services industry with 27 of those years as principal at A1 Freedom Financial. My professional specialties include pensions, retirement, and estate planning for business owners, as well as retirees. I have a BA from Dartmouth College and Masters in Education from Harvard University.
I am a Certified Financial Planner and Investment Advisor Representative of LPL Financial working as an instructor in the financial services industry for advanced business planning, retirement plans, and charitable giving. Additionally, I was a realLIFEstories honoree of the Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education (LIFE), for my effort to raise awareness of the need for Americans to include insurance in their financial plans. This story was featured in Parents and O magazines in 2011.
I was a Past President of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Foundation, which is The Premier Association of Financial Professionals, representing more than 38,000 members from 74 countries. The MDRT Foundation Board of Trustees directs the organizational growth of the MDRT Foundation, while carrying out the mission of increasing member and industry participation, and giving funds to worthwhile charitable organizations throughout the world.
The MDRT Foundation’s global grant programs fund a diverse range of charitable organizations that serve children and youth, people with disabilities, the elderly and medical research. I am proud to be a part of an organization that provides a unique charitable vehicle for members and industry leaders to make a lasting difference that spans the globe. I am looking forward to educating and motivating my fellow MDRT members to make impactful differences to those in need.
While I am an active member of the MDRT Foundation, I am also very active in local charities. I enjoy volunteering at Friends of Project Cope, and donate blood at Boston’s Children’s Hospital every eight weeks. I won the MDRT Foundation’s Top Quality of Life Award for Alex’s Team Foundation, an organization he helped create, which provides grief support and training for nurses working in the pediatric oncology unit of Boston Children’s Hospital. In my free time, I am an avid skier. I also love fishing, sailing, and spending time with my family.
