NEWBURYPORT, MA – Stu Steinberg, CFP, CPA, MBA, Chief Wealth Strategist at Gateweay Financial Partners in downtown Newburyport, has been recognized as a top financial advisor, earning Boston’s 2025 FIVE STAR Wealth Manager Award. This marks his 13th year in a row receiving the honor—a reflection of his dedication, industry expertise, and the relationships he’s built with clients over the years.
The FIVE STAR Award is presented to just over 10% of the advisors in the Boston area. This year, 4,671 Boston-area wealth managers were considered for the award; only 528 (11% of candidates) were honored with the distinction of a FIVE STAR Wealth Manager.[1] Five Star Professional conducts market research to identify high-performing financial advisors, using an objective methodology to help consumers find experts in the industry.
Stu brings over 30 years of combined tax and financial advisory experience to the North Shore. He offers customized investment management, retirement planning, and tax planning services to high-net-worth families, physicians, tech entrepreneurs, and small business owners.
“Being recognized with this award is an absolute honor, but the real reward is the work itself. So many of my clients are at a point in life where big changes are happening—losing parents, sending kids off to college, figuring out how to leave a legacy that truly reflects them. I’ve been through many of these moments myself, so I know they’re not just financial crossroads; they’re life’s big moments,” Stu says. “If I can help make those transitions a little easier, bring some financial clarity, and offer a bit of insight needed to move forward with confidence, that’s what it’s all about.”
Stu has been a valued advisor to many along the North Shore community, always putting people first. Whether it’s a business owner planning for growth, a family managing generational wealth, or a retiree looking ahead, he believes financial decisions should support a life well-lived, not the other way around.
As a registered investment advisor representative with LPL Financial, Stu is a fiduciary with his advisory clients first and foremost, always acting in his clients’ best interest, helping them reach their goals with a personalized plan. With a tech-forward approach, he integrates the latest tools to provide clients with private portals for secure transactions and real-time access to financial reports, so they can stay apprised of portfolio performance, budget tracking, and goal targeting.
Stu looks at the big picture, working closely with his clients’ other advisors, from insurance agents, mortgage specialists, attorneys, and bankers, to create a cohesive financial strategy that supports their family, business, and future.
For more than three years, Stu has been proud to serve on the Anna Jaques Hospital Finance Committee, lending his expertise to an invaluable organization and supporting all that it does for the community. He has called the South End in Newburyport home for almost 20 years and originally hails from Swampscott, MA. Outside of work, he enjoys skiing, golfing, hiking, and cheering on the WSU Huskies with his wife Kristine, his son, two daughters, and their canine companion, Coco.
